Our Mission
The Food Bank efficiently and effectively obtains resources and facilitates distribution of food and necessities to Racine County individuals and families in need, through a network of direct service providers. Our goal is to equalize distribution of resources through the community and to serve as an advocate on behalf of the community in reducing hunger.
Our History
Formed early in 1983, the Racine County Food Bank started with several cases of donated food and a part-time coordinator. Today, the agency has grown to face the challenges of recessions, a worldwide pandemic, and other drastic shifts in the communities we serve.
Currently, RCFB's four staff members and hundreds of volunteers collect, warehouse and distribute more 90,000 pounds of food each month! The Food Bank serves as Racine County's "United Way of Food" and distributes food free of charge to pantries, emergency shelters, community meal sites and social service agencies throughout Racine County.
