Volunteers like you are the lifeblood that fuels our dream of a well‑fed community. Without you, our mission would be impossible.

The Racine County Food Bank is always looking for volunteers to conduct food drives at businesses, schools, churches or and through any other community agency. Volunteers can also lend a hand (or a green thumb) at one of the community gardens, or share their time by helping our team organize donations at the warehouse.

Your time will be well spent making sure everyone in Racine County has access to healthy, plentiful food.

The Garden of Giving

The Food Bank is fortunate to have several generous volunteers and contributors to our fresh food effort. Among them are two Community Gardens, maintained through the Racine Urban Garden Network, and each is unique in its own way.

Harvested food from The Garden of Giving and the Teaching Garden is directly donated to the Food Bank and distributed to families throughout Racine County.

The Teaching Garden

Located on what was formerly industrial “wasteland” adjacent to the Food Bank, the Teaching Garden was built through the efforts of corporate and individual volunteers. Its mission is to educate the public about the necessities of maintaining their own garden, from tilling the soil to seeding all the way through harvest.

The Teaching Garden is particularly geared toward helping burgeoning gardeners acquire the necessary knowledge to grow a successful garden.

To learn more or start volunteering with either garden, contact Dan at dant@racinecountyfoodbank.org or (262) 632-2307.
